I am a Pacific Northwest artist, specializing in acrylic painting and mixed media. The images I create reflect my Mexican American heritage. I paint scenes from nature, fruit from the open-air markets, brilliant flowers and birds. My work often incorporates the colors, patterns or images of Mexico and the ancient Aztec and Mayan motifs, as well as images from my home on the Puget Sound.
I have extensive experience overseas, which has both shaped who I am and influenced my art: Japan, Turkey, Peru, Mexico, Rome, Prague and Paris. My narrative paintings explore concepts of heritage and the veil between the natural world and our manufactured world. There are universal themes, especially in pattern, that resonate in my perception of these experiences translated through my work.
Art can be seen at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo, WA, a cooperative group of local artists: Front Street Gallery
Art is also available for viewing at my studio in Kingston, WA, Kingston Artist Tree by invitation.
